No, I don't have...

...a blue van parked in my yard. After half-dozen of proposed aliases were rejected by Blogspot as already taken, in frustration I growled, "Probably something as offbeat as, say, 'The Parked Blue Van' is already taken, too." Lo and behold, much to my surprise, it wasn't. Well, that's as good a name as any, let's go with it and get this blog up and running!

Well that explains that:) I though maybe you had some secret law enforcement career and you spent a lot of time surveilling in a van.

Hee. I forgot about Switek and Zito doing surveillance from the fake pest control van in Miami Vice. I was thinking of a much more mundane situation, like a parked van in somebody's driveway along with a pile of tires and transmission parts waiting impatiently for a "shade-tree" mechanic to fix her up.

Hi Dan, Nice description of the Blue Van. It reminds me of my old cars, a banana yellow mustang coupe and a very cool (at the time) silver Grand Torino with a big bench seat. Why do people keep those old cars? They should be melted down into soda cans. The only old thing I regret recycling is my old and extensive album collection. I can't share your love for Marshall Tucker but I was deeply bonded to Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Linda Ronstadt and the Eagles.

...my favorite Eagles song is...guess what..."Ol' 55" from their first album...wasn't too happy with Henley & Frey when they kicked out Don Felder...
